Game of Thrones alumnus Pedro Pascal is set to headline Disney’s streaming Star Wars spinoff series, The Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian has selected its titular Mandalorian in Pedro Pascal!
The small-screen Star Wars Universe has landed its first original headlining TV star in Pascal, who, as Variety reports, is in the midst of negotiations after having been offered the lead role in The Mandalorian, a show touted for the upcoming streaming service, Disney+. The series – which will be shepherded by a high-profile writer/producer/showrunner in Jon Favreau – will prospectively see Pascal play an unnamed main character, previously described by Favreau as “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”
Indeed, The Mandalorian will serve as a showcase of the seedier, non-Jedi-related aspects of the Star Wars mythos, set sometime in the decades between the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the Sequel Trilogy’s Empire-emulating retro-fascists,
